At the third attempt

The 45th specialist meeting of TOURENFAHRER hoteliers took place from 5 to 7 April in the "Waldhotel Kurfürst" in the Eifel.

Originally, the meeting in the Eifel should have already taken place in spring 2020. Unfortunately, "something" came up and a year later it had to be cancelled at short notice for the same reason. But at the third attempt it finally worked out. We were able to ring in the motorbike season without any significant restrictions and enjoy the traditional get-together of the TOURFAHRER hosts with Lili, Denis, daughter Christine and their hard-working team at the Waldhotel Kurfürst in Kaisersesch.
Of course, enjoyment was also the order of the day when it came to the food. On the first evening there was a delicious buffet with Eifel specialities, and because Denis is French, we were spoilt with dishes from his homeland on the second evening.
The weather was not quite as kind to us. While it was extremely uncomfortable with cold, wet and strong winds on the journey there and back, it at least stayed dry on the day of our excursion. Therefore, quite a few people had travelled by car and so our group of 14 machines was of a manageable size.
First we drove to Andernach without much of a diversion, directly to the Geysir Museum on the Rhine. After an imaginary excursion into the earth's interior, we continued by boat, because this is the only way to reach the world's highest cold-water geyser.
For a short time, the sun even made an appearance as we then took a long tour of the Eifel. Under the expert guidance of Eifel motorbike tour guide Bernd, we rode on small, low-traffic roads through the charming low mountain range landscape. A detour to the Nürburgring was just as much a part of the Ahr Valley as a stop at Café Fahrtwind.
We sat together for a long time in the evening and the hard core continued to make plans at the bar after midnight. Just like in the old days.
